STS-133 MCC Status Report #26

If the weather cooperates in Florida, the Discovery will stop now for the last time its wheels on Runway 15 of Kennedy Space Center.
The STS-133 crew members are awake, in what is expected to be on their last day in space, at 0823 UTC with the song, chosen by the team flight control center of the International Space Station, "Coming Home" and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The crew will begin preparations for the deorbit at 1153 UTC and close the doors of the Shuttle's cargo bay at 1312 UTC. Wear orange overalls launch and return at 1429 UTC and will be positioned in their seats at 1452 UTC.
At 1542 UTC, the flight director Tony Ceccacci will lead his team of flight control for a round of "go" or "no-go" for deorbit of Discovery. Assuming you get a "go", the engines Discovery will be on for his exit from the orbit starting at 1552 UTC.
This switch will put the spacecraft back into Earth's atmosphere, so that the commander Steve Lindsey, pilot Eric Boe and Mission Specialists Alvin Drew, Steve Bowen, Michael Barratt and Nicole Stott will prepare for a landing 1657 UTC.
At that point, the Space Shuttle Discovery will have spent a total of 365 days in space, in the course of 39 missions. It will have orbited the Earth for almost 5,830 times and traveled 240 million kilometers.
If necessary, now there will be a second landing opportunity at Kennedy Space Center at 1834 UTC. Would require ignition for the deorbit at 1729 UTC.
The next report will be released after the landing, or earlier if events require it.
