In una breve cerimonia di commiato, il comandante del Discovery Steve Lindsey ha parlato dei risultati della missione e ha ringraziato i membri dell'equipaggio della Stazione per la loro ospitalità.
"Abbiamo trascorso un grande periodo a bordo con voi", ha risposto il comandante della Stazione Scott Kelly. "Ci mancherete, ma soprattutto ci mancherà il Discovery. Gli auguriamo buon vento e mari calmi", ha detto dell'orbiter alla sua trentanovesima e ultima missione.
Entrambi hanno poi ringraziato le squadre a Terra per il loro sostegno.
Durante il their stay, the crew of Discovery has delivered and helped install the module Leonardo Multi-Purpose Standing with his three tons of cargo to the station, the Express Logistics Rack 4 hours installed outside the station and gave a further load of 900 kg on the middeck. During two spacewalks completed a series of maintenance and installation.
"The mission is going extremely well," he said in a briefing in the afternoon head for the shuttle flight director Bryan Lunney. "We could not be happier. Discovery and its systems continue to function without problems."
The crew of Discovery, Lindsey, Pilot Eric Boe and Mission Specialists Alvin Drew, Steve Bowen, Michael Barratt and Nicole Stott, have spent most of their morning completing the transfer of equipment and supplies between the two spacecraft, taking advantage of some help from their colleagues in the station.
After an hour passed for a midday meal, they had free time during the afternoon. Later, Bowen and Barratt have verified that the Discovery will use the tools as they move away from the station.
After the transfer of the last hour for the return of some medical experiments on Earth on the Discovery, the farewell ceremony was held, beginning shortly after 2030 UTC.
After the teams were separated and the doors were closed, Drew and Stott have installed a camera centerline axis of mooring buoys to help and will fly the shuttle away from the station after undocking 1200 UTC in the program Monday.
The first chance of landing the Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center Wednesday at 1658 UTC. Weather forecasts speak of good weather, although conditions in the following days are more problematic.
The space shuttle crew began its sleep period at 1223 UTC.
The "Theme from Star Trek," performed by Alexander Courage music will serve as a wakeup call for the crew of the Discovery to 0823 on Monday. He was the runner-up track from the public on a Top 40 list in a contest between songs for the Space Shuttle Program. The first two songs with the highest number of votes earned the right to play music as an alarm for the crew Discovery during its last mission.

The day's selection, made in Europe by the European School of Economics (ESE) will be held in Italy at the Rome Campus ESE, where hundreds of young candidates are expected for a day of interviews and general approach to selection that focus primarily on the aptitudes and skills of language candidati.
