crew STS-133 has received another wake-up special today, just as special is the beginning of what is planned as the last full day the Space Shuttle Discovery will spend in space.
The wakeup call, at 0823 UTC, was "Blue Sky" by Big Head Todd & the Monsters. The song was performed live by Todd Park Mohr, the band's vocalist and guitarist, accompanied by other companions of the group, Brian Nevin, Rob Squires and Jeremy Lawton.

Discovery departs
for the last time from the ISS [NasaTV].

The song is one which has received the most votes in the Top 40 NASA contest and received 722'662 votes (29 percent of the total 2'463'774). It was originally chosen as a tribute to the space program and the work force and has even played a regular gig with live band of four members.
The live performance was the first time a shuttle crew was awakened "live" from Mission Control in Houston.

The song was ranked second in the competition was played yesterday morning. It was the "Theme from Star Trek" with a special introduction by William Shatner and received 671'134 votes (27 percent of the total).
The crew will use the rest of the day especially for the preparation for landing Wednesday, which is scheduled for 1657 UTC at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The commander Steve Lindsey, Pilot Eric Boe and Mission Specialist Nicole Stott will perform a checkout of the control systems of flight of Discovery and a function test on engines RCS (Reaction Control System). All crew members will work together to stow the hardware and equipment.

The crew will also hold a press conference at 1623 UTC to speak with ABC News, CBS News and Associated Press. And at 1708 UTC, send a message to Earth by paying tribute to the Discovery and the thirtieth anniversary of the Space Shuttle Program.

The crew will begin the sleep period, the last of the mission, at 0023 UTC.
