One of the most linked to this procession is certainly the sculptor and carver Salvatore Capizzi , "Don Turidduzzu," as he was affectionately called by his friends.
Born 's January 1, 1907, having lost his father, he lived with his mother in Caltanissetta, Cardella Lucia, she worked for a wealthy family, raised the child.
Since his early childhood si dilettava nella costruzione di statuette d' argilla ed intagliava sagome in legno. La sua formazione artistica l' ebbe probabilmente grazie a due signori, secondo i ricordi del figlio; si trattava di un notaio ed un avvocato che, vedendo le opere del bravo aspirante artista, dopo le scuole elementari si interessarono a mandarlo a fare da garzone di bottega ad un loro amico a Palermo. È proprio dentro questa bottega che il Capizzi riceve la sua prima formazione artistica; successivamente, tornato a Caltanissetta, incominciò immediatamente a lavorare, aprendo la sua bottega in via Angeli.
Diverse furono le opere realizzate in quel periodo: primo tra queste fu un gigantesco stemma della città, che ancora oggi fronteggia in maniera imponente the building of the province in Viale Regina Margherita.

This did not happen to Caltanissetta and, hearing the approach of his death, destroyed sketches, drawings and all that was left of his work. Because it is modest, it was not known how it really deserved, died April 28, 1991 at 84 years.
